Warringtonfire hosts façade testing webinar
London, United Kingdom – April 12, 2021 – Warringtonfire, part of the Element Materials Technology Group, is hosting a NFPA 285 façade testing webinar specifically aimed at architects, designers, engineers, façade consultants and specifiers.
Hosted by Dubai-based senior engineer, Fawaz Hashim, the webinar is designed to inform participants about NFPA 825 façade testing, which measures the flammability characteristics of modern exterior wall assemblies.
The performance of exterior walls during fire exposure is a critical element of building construction, so it is important that industry experts in construction and design are aware of the NFPA 285 facade testing standard.
The free, one-hour webinar will run on Tuesday 27 April from 5.30 p.m. - 6.30 p.m. AEST / 11.30 a.m. - 12.30 a.m. GST / 8.30 a.m. - 9.30 a.m. GMT. The webinar will cover:
- The history of the standards relating to International Building Codes
- The standard/regulations and relevance of the test
- A tour of the equipment
- Why rising energy standards are driving take up for the test
Fawaz Hashim has gained extensive, global, hands-on testing and consultation experience on standard and ad-hoc systems in the fire safety industry through his role as a fire testing engineer. He specializes in propagation fire test rigs to NFPA 285, BS 8414 and ASTM E2307. Fawaz is an associate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers; is an active participant in ASTM’s E05 committees on fire; and also participates at the European Group of Organisations for Fire Testing, Inspection and Certification (EGOLF).
One hour of CPD is available for attending this webinar. Attendees will be awarded the CPD certificate within seven days of the webinar.
